Our Values
Inner Flourishing believes that a healthy school system is dependent on the wellbeing not only of its students, but also of its staff, teachers and administrators. Our variety of mindfulness trainings has helped educators feel highly supported to cultivate a deeper sense of self, which can then improve job satisfaction, develop trauma sensitivity and strengthen equity awareness.
Our Mission
- To support teachers to sustain a personal mindfulness practice as the foundational strategy that influences classroom learning
- To promote wise action that is informed by a regulated internal system
- To nurture communal care and build internal capacity to shift school culture to that of restoration and liberation
A Teacher’s Heart:
How Inner Flourishing Came to Be
What would it be like if an elementary school teacher had the chance to create professional development that was relevant to the real challenges that educators face? How would it look different from other programs that offer ready-made curricula and one day trainings that seek to quickly address systemic school problems?
With a compassionate heart that has grown just as much from a careful commitment to her own mindful awareness as from years of dedication to classroom teaching and mentoring, Neena has developed a unique approach to work with school communities. She takes the lead as facilitator and friend to skillfully guide those who are ready to transform their relationships with their students, colleagues and themselves. Her style is invitational, authentic and intimate, as she provides the level of support that staff and students really require and deserve to make lasting change.
Inner Flourishing was created purely out of need at a crucial time in education. After decades of teaching and coaching in schools, and over eight years of training school leaders, staff, parents, teachers and students in mindfulness, Neena was asked to share her expertise in mindfulness facilitation with public school employees for the 2021-2022 school year as a way to alleviate pandemic stress. Now she is inviting others who have the capacity, interest and belief in school wellbeing to experience her freshly designed programs and services.
